Business continuity and recovery

Most organisations are under increasing pressure to implement and maintain Business Continuity and Recovery (BCR) capabilities to ensure that they can continue to operate in the event of loss or disruption to critical business services. BCR should be a fit-for-purpose, business-owned and -driven activity that is directly linked to corporate governance and good management practice.

 

 

  • It’s NOT just an IT issue, but needs the participation of all areas of the business to succeed.
  • It requires senior management support and commitment. Their intent should be communicated to the whole organisation.
  • It’s NOT a one off exercise. It needs to become a business as usual process which is continually monitored, measured and updated against changes across the organisation
